   There are staff who failed to begin the Department's required 40-hour introductory child care training within 90 days of employment or complete the training within one year. Comments: During the inspection, observed staff personnel K.A. had not completed the 40 hour DCF training requirements. The staff member originally began in the childcare industry at the facility January 11th, 2024, as indicated by paperwork records. The staff began DCF training March 6th, 2024 and would have needed to complete the training within one year on March 6th. 2025. The staff member had left the industry, but returned October 21st, 2025, and is currently working in the facility. Technical assistance was provided to both the staff and administrative director that staff have 90 days when beginning the childcare industry to start the 40-hour DCF training and one year to complete from the date they begin training. Article VI. Personnel Training.B.2. and Article VI.B.4.c.All childcare personnel must begin training within 90 days of employment and successfully complete training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of initial employment in the child care industry in any child care facility. c.    Peeling paint was observed on the surface of the [blue climbing jungle gym and red/blue bicycle circle ride] in the outdoor area. Comments: At the time of the inspection, observed peeling paint on the surface of the blue climbing jungle gym and red/blue bicycle circle ride in the outdoor area on the playground. Upon providing technical assistance that peeling paint on outdoor surfaces must be repaired, the director immediately informed staff. During the inspection, and while children were away from playground in the classrooms, staff members repaired the peeling paint. Thus, provider resolved the non-compliance at the time of the inspection. Compliance Comments At the time of the inspection, observed first aid kit complete with manual.
