The licensing specialist monitored that the two-year-old classroom did not have an accurate attendance record in regards to emergency preparedness, only 5 out of the 11 students were accounted for on the physical attendance log when asked to present. C. A current attendance record and parent contact information must accompany child care personnel out of the building during a drill or actual evacuation and be used to account for all children. The operator must maintain a written record of the fire drills showing the date, number of children and child care personnel in attendance, evacuation route used, and time taken for all individuals to evacuate the premises. Each fire drill record must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months from the date of the fire drill. The fire drills conducted must include, at a minimum: 1. One fire drill using an alternate evacuation route, 2. One fire drill during napping/sleeping times, and 3. One fire drill in the presence and at the request of the licensing authority. This drill will be coordinated with the operator or designee. This standard was brought back into compliance at the time of inspection by the staff member updating the daily attendance log prior to going back inside. The facilitys fencing walls or gate area had gaps that could allow children to exit the outdoor play area. CCF Handbook, Section 3.5, F (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: 17-6: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed that black rail fence had gaps that exceed 3.5 inches, in that the black rails were 4 inches apart. Additional time is being provided due to the potential financial hardship. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 3.5, F The outdoor play area must have adequate fencing or walls a minimum of 4 feet in height. Fencing, including gates, must be continuous and must not have gaps or opening larger than 3 inches that would allow children to exit the outdoor play area. The base of the fence must remain at ground level and be free from erosion or buildup to prevent inside and outside access by children or animals. These areas must have at least two exits, with at least one being remote from the buildings. If an outdoor play area was approved for usage by the Department prior to October 25, 2017, no new exits are required to be added to meet this standard. A. The Student Health Examination shall be completed by a person given statutory authority to perform health examinations. B. The Student Health Examination or the signed statement is valid for two years from the date the physical was performed. An up-to-date version must be on file for as long as the child is enrolled at the facility. C. If the custodial parents or legal guardians fail to provide the documentation required above within 30 days of enrollment, the facility shall not allow the child to remain in the program.
