17. Outdoor Play Area/Fencing CCF Handbook, Section 3.5 (17-01)
The facilitys outdoor play area contained litter, nails, glass or other hazards that posed a low potential for harm to children. CCF Handbook, Section 3.5, A Comments: Licensing Specialist observed a large nail sticking out of the plastic panels installed by the fence in the Four and Five-Year-Old playground and multiple tree roots growing under the turf causing higher level areas and ripped the turf from one place. Technical assistance was provided: Licensing Specialist discussed the requirement with the provider. Provider informed Licensing specialist that they are aware of the Tree's roots and they are scheduled to be removed soon. Licensing Specialist observed rusty areas on the platforms, the bridge and the stairs on two playground equipment located on the 2 playgrounds. Provider informed Licensing specialist that they are aware of the rust and provided a proof of order from Little Tikes Commercial. The receipt was dated on: 9/16/2024 for Primrose School of Westchase. Address: 12051 Whitmarsh Lane Tampa, FL 33626. Technical assistance was provided: Licensing Specialist discussed the requirement with the provider. Provider must contact licensing Specialist if they need more time to install the new parts, Provider must cover the exposed rusted areas temporally to ensure the safety of the children until the new parts are delivered and installed.
