The facilitys fencing walls or gate area had gaps that could allow children to exit the outdoor play area. CCF Handbook, Section 3.5, F (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection Licensing Specialist observed the facility's gates are not secure, which may allow children to exit the outside play area. According to the DCF Handbook Section 3.5.F Outdoor Play Area F. The outdoor play area must have adequate fencing or walls a minimum of 4 feet in height. Fencing, including gates, must be continuous and must not have gaps or openings larger than 3 inches that would allow children to exit the outdoor play area. The base of the fence must remain at ground level, and be free from erosion or build-up to prevent inside or outside access by children or animals. These areas must have at least two exits, with at least one being remote from the buildings. If an outdoor play area was approved for usage by the Department prior to October 25, 2017, no new exits are required to be added to meet this standard. According to the DCF Handbook, Section 3.4.1A Licensed Capacity A. The capacity, as calculated by the licensing authority, must be posted in a conspicuous location within each room. This was fixed at the time of inspection when the licensing specialist contacted the supervisor to pull their file from the county.
