Areas of the facility were found to be in need of cleaning. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed the following areas require cleaning: - dust was observed inside of the washer and on the top of the water tank - water scales were observed on the faucets in childrens restrooms - heavy dust and debris were observed on the air vent in childrens restroom near the age 3&4 classroom - oil stains were observed on the ac vent in the kitchen area - dust and debris were observed on several AC vents. An area(s) of the facility was observed to not be in good repair. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed the following areas/items require repair/replacement: - Toilet bolt caps were missing from two toilets in the childrens restroom. - Several crackers were observed on the ceiling in multiple classrooms. - One ceiling light was missing in the VPK classroom, leaving exposed wiring and several holes in that ceiling area. The Operator informed the Licensing Specialist that the light was nonfunctional and had been removed. - A blue wooden chair was observed with debris peeling from the bottom. - Peeling paint was observed on the blue slide and on sections of the fence in the outdoor playground. - The green canopy on the outdoor playground was observed to be broken. - Peeling paint was observed on the walls in several classrooms and in the childrens restrooms. - A square hole was observed in the wall behind the toilet in the childrens restroom, containing heavy dust and debris. The Operator stated that the facility had recently replaced the toilet and the maintenance worker left the hole unpatched. - Several seats in the white vehicle were observed to be damaged. The Operator informed the Licensing Specialist that seat covers would be ordered to address the issue. CCF Handbook, Section 3.5, F Comments: During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed and measured that the wood fence didn't meet the minimum of 4 feet high requirement which was 2 inches shorter. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided TA per CCF handbook "3.5 Outdoor Play Area F. The outdoor play area must have adequate fencing or walls a minimum of 4 feet in height. Fencing, including gates, must be continuous and must not have gaps or opening larger than 3 inches that would allow children to exit the outdoor play area. The base of the fence must remain at ground level and be free from erosion or buildup to prevent inside and outside access by children or animals. These areas must have at least two exits, with at least one being remote from the buildings. If an outdoor play area was approved for usage by the Department prior to October 25, 2017, no new exits are required to be added to meet this standard. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided TA per CCF handbook "3.9.2 Food Storage Proper storage of food is essential to prevent food contamination, as well as, insect and rodent infestation. Correct handling and storage of all food is a key component in preventing food-borne illnesses. To prevent bacteria growth, cold food must be kept at or below 41 degrees Fahrenheit and hot foods at or above 135 degrees Fahrenheit. Facilities choosing to prepare food must have a designated space for food storage within the designated food preparation area or in a room not calculated as part of indoor floor space, and in an area not used for diapering. Off- site food storage is permissible only if the site of storage is a licensed child care facility under the same ownership that includes a food preparation area that meets licensing standards. D. CCF Handbook, Section 3.11, B Comments: During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Speicalist observed that toys and toys containers had dust and stains which require cleaning. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided TA per CCF handbook "3.11 Indoor Equipment Equipment, materials, furnishings, and play areas should be sturdy, safe, and in good repair. Provider should monitor the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recommendations for use of equipment. Walls, ceilings, floors, furnishings, equipment, toys, and other surfaces should be suitable to the location and the users. They should be maintained in good repair, free from visible soil and clean. Equipment and furnishings must be arranged to allow direct supervision of children by child care personnel from all areas within a room/play area. Bookshelves, televisions, and other heavy furnishings must be stable and secured as to not pose a threat of falling over. In efforts to prevent children from climbing to dangerous heights or enabling them to reach hazardous items, chairs and other furnishings must be placed away from cabinets and shelves. The program should make accommodations to the program environment and schedule so that children with special needs may participate. B. Toys, equipment, and furnishings must be safe and maintained in a sanitary condition following a routine schedule of cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting. Each kit must be kept in a closed container and labeled First Aid and must, at a minimum, include: 1.
