Medication which had expired or is no longer being administered was not discarded or returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian. CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, H (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Health Requirements [SR] Comments: During the time of inspection, Licensing Specialist observed medication (EpiPen) for two children being stored in a medication box without written authorization forms. Licensing Specialist also observed an EpiPen and allergy medicine to be expired. The Director advised that the children were no longer enrolled in the program. Licensing Specialist observed the Director remove the medication from the box and she advised that she would return the medication to the parents. Licensing Specialist observed the Director dispose the allergy medicine into the garbage. This standard was brought back into compliance during the time of inspection. CCF Handbook, section, 6.5 Medication H. Medication that has expired or that is no longer being dispensed must be returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian or discarded. RECORD KEEPING 41.
