A ratio of [1] staff for [4 infants] children is required. There were [1] staff for [9] children observed. General Requirements [SR] Comments: During the inspection, the staff to child ratios were observed and documented as follows: At the time of the inspection, there was one teacher present in the classroom with nine infants. The second teacher assigned to the group was observed outside, walking with another infant under her care. Additionally, one baby had been moved from another classroom to allow the mother to breastfeed. Director/owner was on property, inspector informed the out of ratio in the infant room. Director addressed right away the ratio with the teachers and corrected.. Recommendations/Next Steps: Review staffing coverage to ensure teacher-to-child ratios are maintained at all times, including when staff temporarily step out of the room.
