During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored 117 of the 117 childrens records. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed 1 child did not have a Student Health Examination/DH (Form 3040), or an equivalent health statement on file within 30 days of enrollment. An area(s) of the facility was observed to not be in good repair. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed classroom 602 paint was peeling by the window, the trim was coming off the wall and the wall divider in the library center was ripped and exposing the foam. In classroom 604 there is a hole the size of a nickel in the wall by the window. In classroom 605 the paint is peeling on the right side of the window by the trim. The director was given until November 28, 2024, to come into compliance with this standard. • During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 3.1 A.- General Health and Safety Requirements. A. All child care facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months. • 13. (Section 3.2.A.1. and 3.2.C Training Requirements, Page 7) [SR] Comments: During the time of inspection, the Director advised the Licensing Specialist that there 29 employees. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored 29 of the 29 employee records. When the Licensing Specialist was reviewing the files the Licensing Specialist observed two personnel did not complete complete the DEL -approved health and safety modules by June 30, 2024. The director was given until November 28, 2024, to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, School Readiness Program Health and Safety Standards Handbook, Section 3.2 Training Courses A. Notwithstanding the exemption from completing child care training based on educational credentials or passing of competency examinations per s. 402.305(2), F.S., all child care personnel must successfully complete at least one of these trainings: 1. Licensed School Readiness providers must complete, and any other School Readiness provider type may complete, the DCF-approved online or in-person child care training courses as evidenced by successful completion of the competency examination offered by DCF or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Information on training course access and availability can be found on the Department of Children and Families website at www.myflfamilies.com/childcare or by contacting the DCF Child Care Training Information Center toll free at 1-888-352-2842. These courses include: Health, Safety and Nutrition; Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect; Child Growth and Development; and Behavioral Observation and Screening.
