The written record of the fire drills was incomplete and did not include the following:[drill during May 2025]. CCF Handbook, Section 3.8.4, C Physical Environment [SR] Comments: Licensing specialist reviewed fire drill log and observed no fire drill performed during month of May 2025. Technical Assistance was provided that During the facilitys license year, fire drills utilizing the alarm system, approved by the local fire authority, must be conducted monthly at various dates and times when children are in care. A current attendance record and parent contact information must accompany childcare personnel out of the building during a drill or actual evacuation and be used to account for all children. The operator must maintain a written record of the fire drills showing the date, number of children and childcare personnel in attendance, evacuation route used, and time taken for all individuals to evacuate the premises. Each fire drill record must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months from the date of the fire drill. The fire drills conducted must include, at a minimum: 1. One fire drill using an alternate evacuation route, 2. One fire drill during napping/sleeping times, and 3. One fire drill in the presence and at the request of the licensing authority. The food preparation area does not have a hand washing station or the hand washing station did not include the following: [posted signs visible to child care personnel and children demonstrating proper handwashing technique.]. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.1, A.7. Food and Nutrition [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist checked all hand washing stations and none of them had the posted signs of proper handwashing technique. Technical Assistance was provided The handwashing station must include a sink with running water and drainage, soap, trash can, and disposable towels or hand-drying machines that are properly installed and maintained. A handwashing sink shall not be used for any purpose other than handwashing. Handwashing stations must include posted signs visible to child care personnel and children demonstrating proper handwashing technique. Portable sinks may not be used for dishwashing or food preparation. If a portable sink is used for handwashing in the food preparation area, hot water must be provided. Technical assistance was provided that The child care facility is responsible for obtaining for each child in care a current, complete and properly executed Florida Certification of Immunization form Part A-1, B, or C, DH 680, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001 (7)(o), F.A.C., or the Religious Exemption from Immunization form, DH 681, which is incorporated by reference in 65C[if ! supportFootnotes][1]22.001(7)(p), F.A.C., from the custodial parent or legal guardian. Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month did not complete the 40 hour Introductory Child Care Training requirement. CCF Handbook Section 4.2.1 Comments: Mandated Introductory Training: Childcare personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of childcare training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Childcare personnel who successfully completed the mandatory 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training prior to January 1, 2004 are not required to fulfill the competency examination requirement. A. The facility did not have documentation to show child care personnel had begun the introductory training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.1 Comments: Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the childcare industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination. The child care program is responsible for obtaining training documentation from child care personnel.
