28. Training Requirements SACCF Handbook, Section 4 (28-03)
The facility did not have documentation to show child care personnel had begun the introductory training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. SACCF Handbook, Section 4.1 Comments: Childcare personnel must begin training within 90 days of employment and successfully complete the Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframe begins at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This maybe accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination. The child care program is responsible for obtaining training documentation from child care personnel. L.S observed that 1 staff has not completed the required 40 hours for school age childcare. TA was given to provider, that in order to obtain compliance provider's staff must begin training within 90 days of employment and successfully complete it.
