A ratio of [1] child care personnel for [6] children is required. A ratio of [2] child care personnel for [16] children was observed. s.402.305(4), F.S. (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) General Requirements [SR] Comments: Upon arrival to the facility, licensing specialist observed two staff return to the facility immediately after my entrance. Licensing specialist conducted ratio checks by classroom and observed one of the staff that returned, joined the 1-year and 2-years old classrooms, that per provider was mixed for nap time. There was a total of 16 children with two teachers, before the third staff returned from break. Additionally, the second returned from her break went into her classroom that was being supervised by the next door classroom staff. Ratio at Time of Arrival: Infants - 2:6 1-Year Old and 2-Years Old - 2:16 2-Years Old - 1:16 (second staff on-site in office area) 3-Years Old - 1:14 4-Years Old - (2 classrooms being supervised by one teacher) - 1:9 + 14 from second class Standard returned to compliance immediately when two staff returned to facility after licensing specialist's entrance. Technical assistance was provided that The staff-to-child ratio, as established in Section 402.305(4), F.S., is based on primary responsibility for the direct supervision of children and applies at all times while children are in care. 2.3.1 Mixed Age Groups A. In groups of mixed age ranges, where children under one year of age are included, one child care personnel must be responsible for no more than four children of any age group, at all times. B. In groups of mixed age ranges, where children one year of age but under two years of age are included, one child care personnel must be responsible for no more than six children of any age group, at all times.
