During nap time, lighting was insufficient to visually observe and supervise children. CCF Handbook, Section 3.3.1, C Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During the inspection, the licensing specialist observed that the classrooms were excessively dark during naptime, preventing teachers from properly supervising the children while sleeping. The issue was corrected at the time of inspection when the provider activated the night lights in the classrooms. The Student Health Examination or equivalent health statement was not acceptable in that: [ It was not current (over two years old)]. CCF Handbook, Section 7.2 Record Keeping [SR] Comments: Upon reviewing students files, the LS found a student with an expired Health Examination form. TA was given to provider: The child care facility is responsible for obtaining for each child in care a current, complete and properly executed Student Health Examination form DH 3040, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7)(q), F.A.C. and may be obtained from the local county health department, the parent or legal guardian, or a signed statement by authorized professionals that indicate the results of the components of the Student Health Examination form are included in the health examination. The Student Health Examination or the signed statement is valid for two years from the date the physical was performed. The facility serving children had neither a portable nor a permanent bath facility available for bathing children. CCF Handbook, Section 3.7, G Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During the renewal inspection, the inspector observed that the designated bathing area was being used as a storage area. The technical assistance was provided to the provider of safety and hygiene regulations, as bathing areas must remain clear and functional for their intended purpose at all times. Using the bathing area for storage can pose health and safety risks and may prevent proper use during emergencies or daily operations. Immediate corrective was done at the time of the inspection. The bath facilities was brought into compliance by staff removing the storage items at time of the inspection. Per the CCF Handbook, Section - 3.7 Restrooms and Bath Facilities G. Every facility must have at least one portable or permanent bath facility available for bathing children.
