    Child care personnel failed to immediately contact emergency services and the child's custodial parents or legal guardians in the event of a serious illness, accident, injury or emergency to their child. CCF Handbook, Section 6.3, B & C and 2.5.3, E Health Requirements [SR] Comments: At the time of the inspection a child was observed to have sustained a serious head injury after falling down. The child in question lost two teeth as a result of this fall related injury. It was observed that emergency services were not contacted after the serious injury occurred. Technical assistance was provided advising the provider child care personnel must immediately contact emergency services and the child's custodial parents or legal guardians in the event of a serious illness, accident, injury, or emergency to their child. A serious injury is any injury/incident resulting in death or serious physical or emotional harm to a child that prudently calls for medical attention, including medication errors that present a risk of ineffectiveness or adverse reaction. This item was corrected at the time of the inspection when the parent and/or legal guardian picked up the child from the facility and took him receive medical attention.
