CCF Handbook, Section 2.5.2 (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) General Requirements [SR] Comments: At the time of the inspection, it was noted by CCR that the facility had two dates that did not have two signatures on the log verifying secondary sweep of vehicle. This was corrected at the time of the inspection by staff signing the log. G. Upon arrival at the destination by vehicle, a second and different child care personnel must: 1. Conduct a physical inspection and visual sweep of the vehicle to ensure that no child is left in the vehicle; and 2. The facility did not have documented proof that all child care personnel were trained and knowledgeable within 30 days of date of hire in [ safe sleep practices and shaken baby syndrome]. CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.3 and 4.2.5 (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Training [SR] Comments: At the time of the inspection, it was noted by CCR that one employee see name on confidential page of inspection did not have proof of safe sleep practices and shaken baby syndrome training within 30 days of hire. The facility will be placed back into compliance with the submission of required training to the department for review. All childcare personnel who work in a facility that offers care to infants must have training regarding guidance on safe sleep practices, preventing shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma; recognition of signs and symptoms of shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma; strategies for coping with crying, fussing, or distraught child and the development and vulnerabilities of the brain in infancy in early childhood within 30 days of hire at the facility. For child care personnel to satisfy this requirement the training must be accomplished through one of following methods: Departments Health Safety and Nutrition course, Safe Sleep course, or the Early Learning Floridas Safe Sleep Practices.
