Areas of the facility were found to be in need of cleaning. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During the inspection, the licensing specialist observed walls, doors, and door frames, in need of cleaning. The areas in need of cleaning include the infant room and the walls of the main part of the facility. To come into compliance, the above areas must be cleaned by the reinspection date of 09/29/25. The Child Care Facility Handbook states: Physical Environment Children are much more susceptible to the adverse effects of environmental factors, materials and toxicants. It is imperative that the childcare environment is conducive to the healthy development of children. 3.1 General Health and Safety Requirements A. All child care facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months. 13. Food served at the facility was not free from spoilage and contamination, and was not safe for eating as evidenced by [expired food item in freezer. ]. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.3, D (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Food and Nutrition [SR] Comments: During the inspection of the freezer, the licensing specialist removed a frozen bag of butter balls that expired on 05/22/25. The Child Care Facility Handbook states: 3.9.3 Food Safety Handling of food in a safe and careful manner prevents the spread of bacteria, viruses and fungi. Outbreaks of foodborne illnesses have occurred in many settings, including child care facilities. D. If a facility chooses to provide food to children directly or by contract with an outside source, such as a caterer, the food must be free from spoilage and handled in a sanitary manner at all times. The facility must have adequate equipment available to maintain food safety. 26. Hand hygiene procedures, including situations or times, were not posted in food preparation, diapering, and toileting areas. CCF Handbook, Section 3.10.1, D (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Sanitation and Equipment [SR] Comments: While inspecting the restrooms and bath facilities, the licensing specialist observed that there were no handwashing procedure signs. To come back into the compliance, the facility must post handwashing signs in the restrooms. The Child Care Facility Handbook states: 3.10.1 Handwashing D. The written record of the fire drills was incomplete and did not include the following:[the date, number of children and child care personnel in attendance, evacuation route used, and time taken for all individuals to evacuate the premises.]. CCF Handbook, Section 3.8.4, C (Section 2.1 - Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: The licensing specialist observed an incomplete fire drill log. All emergency drill elements were missing dating back to May 2024. The director filled in the rest of the information during the remainder of the inspection. The Child Care Facility Handbook States: 3.8.4 Fire Drills A. During the facilitys license year, fire drills utilizing the alarm system, approved by the local fire authority, must be conducted monthly at various dates and times when children are in care. B. When the facilitys approved fire alarm alert system is activated or initiated, all adults and children must evacuate the facility. C. A current attendance record and parent contact information must accompany child care personnel out of the building during a drill or actual evacuation and be used to account for all children. The operator must maintain a written record of the fire drills showing the date, number of children and child care personnel in attendance, evacuation route used, and time taken for all individuals to evacuate the premises. Each fire drill record must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months from the date of the fire drill. The fire drills conducted must include, at a minimum: 1. One fire drill using an alternate evacuation route, 2. One fire drill during napping/sleeping times, and 3. One fire drill in the presence and at the request of the licensing authority.
