The facility did not share with child care personnel or post in an easily accessible location, special food restrictions for a child. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.3, G Food and Nutrition [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialists observed allergy/special food restrictions list for children improperly posted in an area that is visible to parents and non-child care personnel. Licensing specialist observed list improperly posted that included childs photo, full name and description of allergy/special food restriction. Corrected at the time of the inspection. Licensing Specialist gave technical assistance regarding properly posting childrens allergies/special food restrictions in an area or a way that could not be visible seen by parents or non- childcare personnel. Technical assistance was also provided at the previous inspection regarding properly posting allergy/special food restriction list. At the time of inspection Licensing Supervisor gave additional technical assistance regarding properly posting childrens allergy/special food restriction list. Licensing Specialist asked Provider to place a cover page over list or relocate the list to an area that is not visibly seen by parent or non child care personnel. Provider stated she felt uneasy placing a cover page over list but will place a coverage sheet over list. Per Child Care Facility (CCF) Handbook, Section 3.9.3, G, If a special diet is required for a child by a physician, a copy of the physicians order, a copy of the diet, and a sample meal plan for the special diet must be maintained in the childs file and followed. If the custodial parent or legal guardian notifies the program of any known food allergies, written documentation must be maintained in the childs file for as long as the child is in care. Child/ren were placed in a crib, playpen, play yard or other sleeping and napping bedding with items that could pose a strangulation or suffocation risk. CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.4, A (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed 1 infant sleeping in crib sucking on pacifier with a stuffed animal pacifier string clip attached to both pacifier and to infants sleep sack. Corrected at the time of inspection. Technical assistance was given regarding items that could pose a strangulation or suffocation risk. Teacher removed the stuffed animal pacifier string clip from infants clothing at the time of inspection. Friendly Reminder: Per CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.4, A. All personnel that care for infants must follow safe sleep practices as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) as referenced in Caring for Our Children Basics Health and Safety Foundations for Early Care and Education, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7)(v), F.A.C. Cribs or playpens/play yards used for infants must have tight fitted sheets and no excess bedding, which includes but is not limited to: bumper pads, hanging mobiles, quilts, comforters, receiving blankets, pillows, stuffed animals and cushions (page 26) 21. A minimum distance of 18'' was not maintained between each napping/sleeping space. CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.2, C Physical Environment [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed a minimum distance of 18'' was not maintained between each napping/sleeping space. Licensing Specialist 2 children in 1 year old room, 2 children in 3-year-old room and 1 child in 4-year-old room whose cots were not 18" in distance. Corrected at the time of the inspection. Technical assistance was given to personnel in 1,3- and 4-year-old rooms regarding maintaining a distance of 18" between each napping and sleeping space. Personnel in 1,3- and 4-year-old rooms separated cots to a distance of 18" at the time of the inspection. Provider stated she will discuss requirements with personnel. Per CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.2, C.A minimum of 18 inches must be maintained around individual napping and sleeping spaces. A maximum of two sides of a napping or sleeping space may be against a solid barrier, such as the wall. The solid side of a crib does not meet the requirements for a solid barrier (page 25).
