An area(s) of the facility was observed to not be in good repair. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A Physical Environment [SR] Comments: The baby room carpet is extremely dirty and has visible food particles imbedded, the carpet needs to be replaced. 3.1 General Health and Safety Requirements A. All childcare facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months. The facility did not have 35 square feet of usable floor space per child for the number of children observed in care. The facility had a capacity of [11 in classroom #1 and classroom #6] based on 35 square feet and [In classroom #1 28 children was present and classroom #6 had 12 children present] children were observed in care. CCF Handbook , Section 3.4.2, D Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During the inspection 28 children was observed in classroom #1 the summer camper's classroom and 12 children was observed in Classroom #6 The three-and four-year-old classroom. 3.4.2 Indoor Square Footage/Usable Floor Space D. Each room routinely used as a classroom must provide the minimum 35 square footage of usable indoor floor space per child. The staff members were advised to split the children up and relocate the children to another area of the facility that can accommodate the children, meet capacity and ratio at the same time. The facilitys fencing walls or gate area had gaps that could allow children to exit the outdoor play area. CCF Handbook, Section 3.5, F Physical Environment [SR] Comments: At the time of the routine inspection, I observed the gate leading to the street from the playground to not have a safety lock on it. F. The outdoor play area must have adequate fencing or walls a minimum of 4 feet in height. Fencing, including gates, must be continuous and must not have gaps or opening larger than 3 and a half inches that would allow children to exit the outdoor play area. The base of the fence must remain at ground level and be free from erosion or buildup to prevent inside and outside access by children or animals. These areas must have at least two exits, with at least one being remote from the buildings. If an outdoor play area was approved for usage by the Department prior to October 25, 2017, no new exits are required to be added to meet this standard. However, if outdoor play area fencing is changed then the standard would apply, and two exits must be provided. Food and Nutrition [SR] Comments: While conducting routine inspection I observed items in both freezers of the facility to have frozen foods not labeled with dates and time of receiving items. 3.9.2 Food Storage 2. Food may be frozen prior to the expiration date, but when thawed, it must be labeled with the date it was removed from the freezer and discarded within seven calendar days.
