23. Fire Drills & Emergency Preparedness CCF Handbook, Section 3.8 (23-06)
During the facilitys licensure year, fire drills utilizing the approved alarm system were not conducted monthly at various dates and times when children were in care [Provider did not utilize the approves alarm system for fire drills. ]. CCF Handbook, Section 3.8.4, A Physical Environment [SR] Comments: While conducting an unannounced fire drill the licensing specialist observed the approved alarm system not being used. Provider will begin using the alarm system from now on. Per DCF CCF Handbook Section 3.3.4, A: A. During the facilitys license year, fire drills utilizing the alarm system, approved by the local fire authority, must be conducted monthly at various dates and times when children are in care. 2nd visit was conducted on April 02. 2025.
