Open packages of perishable or leftover foods were not [ labeled with date]. CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.2, D (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Food and Nutrition [SR] Comments: Licensing specialist observed three packages of opened foods in the freezer not labeled with the date they were open. Pictures were taken of each package. DCF CCF Handbook Section 3.9.2 (D) Opened packages of perishable or leftover food items must be properly covered or sealed in containers or bags, labeled with the date, and properly stored and discarded within seven calendar days. The cook at facility was not on campus at the time of inspection, when the cook returns, he will label the packages and send pictures to licensing via email. The facility's first aid kit was missing the following items: [ Bottled water]. CCF Handbook, Section 6.2, C Health Requirements [SR] Comments: The first aid kit did not have a bottle of water with it. Provider put a bottle of water in the kit at time of inspection. Per DCF CCF handbook section 6.2: C. Each kit must be kept in a closed container and labeled First Aid and must, at a minimum, include: 11. During the facilitys licensure year, fire drills utilizing the approved alarm system were not conducted monthly at various dates and times when children were in care [in November 2024]. CCF Handbook, Section 3.8.4, A (Section 2.1 - Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: Facility did not conduct a fire drill in the month of November in 2024. Provider will conduct a shelter in place drill to make up for the month of November by 12/27/24 and email licensing specialist a copy of the drill log.
