7 AAC 57.350(f) - Orientation and Training

The Administrator and the caregiver did not receive at least 24 hours of annual training relevant to child care and development based on the individual's hire date with the facility. Regulation: Except as provided in the training requirements of 7 AAC 57.300 for the administrator, a child care center, child care group home, or child care home shall ensure that each administrator, and caregiver receives at least 24 hours of annual training relevant to child care and development. At least one hour of annual training must address a health and safety training topic in (a)(4) of this section based on the individual's hire date with the facility. Except as provided in (j) of this section, the 24 hours of annual training must be in addition to the orientation and training required under (a) of this section and the training in first aid and CPR required under (e) of this section. An administrator or caregiver may satisfy the annual training requirements of this subsection by obtaining college credit relevant to child care and development if the department approves the credit. Approved coursework must include at least one of the health and safety training topics identified in (a)(4) of this section. Cited at a announced Renewal inspection. AS 47.32.140(b) - Centralized Licensing and Related Administrative Procedures.Purpose and applicability.

The entity did not cure or ensure violations will not recur as stated in the Plan of Correction for the Report of Inspection/Notice of Violation dated on June 24, 2025 that was submitted to the Department and approved on July 14, 2026. The Administrator and caregiver did not receive 24 hours of annual training from their date of hire. Regulation: An entity receiving a notice under (a) of this section, or a notice under AS 47.32.130(b)(2) that contains the information specified in AS 47.32.130(b)(2)(B), shall submit a plan of correction to the applicable department for approval. Once it has cured its violations, the entity shall submit to that department an allegation of compliance. Upon receipt of the allegation of compliance, the applicable department may conduct a follow-up investigation or inspection to determine compliance. The department that provides notice of a violation may take one or more enforcement actions under (d) and (f) of this section regardless of whether the entity achieves compliance under this subsection. 7 AAC 57.030(c)(9)(C) - Application for license; biennial renewal.

The facility's State of Alaska Business License was not renewed prior to the expiration date, 12/31/2025. Regulation: An applicant for a provisional or biennial license under AS 47.32 and this chapter shall submit a completed application on a form supplied by the department and shall provide the following information as applicable to the type of child care facility: a copy of a business license as required under AS 43.70; and Cited at a unannounced Follow Up inspection. 7 AAC 57.550(a) - Health.

Not all children have a valid immunization certificate or evidence that the child is exempt from immunization on file. Regulation: At or before admission of a child, a child care facility shall obtain from the child's parent a valid immunization certificate or evidence that the child is exempt from immunization. 7 AAC 57.230(d) - Records.

Personnel records were not maintained to include an annual performance appraisal for a caregiver. Regulation: A child care facility shall maintain personnel records for employees and caregivers. For employees, these records must include starting and ending dates of employment, application materials, annual and interim performance evaluations, orientation and training documentation, and personnel action memoranda of commendation or reprimand. For other caregivers, records may be limited to starting and ending dates of service, application materials, and an evaluation notation. Cited at a announced Annual inspection. 7 AAC 57.240(a)(3) - Reports.

Failing to report to the department the permanent departure of a household member. Regulation: In addition to the notice of changes required by AS 47.32.200, and the notification requirements of 7 AAC 10.925, a child care facility shall report to the department the permanent departure of an individual, age 16 or older, associated with a child care facility in a manner described in 7 AAC 10.900(b); and Cited at a unannounced Investigation inspection.
