Facility management stated they were aware the table was in disrepair and did not take action to remove the table from the classroom. A caregiver failed to respond appropriately to a child's needs when the caregiver did not demonstrate an understanding of child development for the age range in the classroom as the caregiver opted to turn a damaged table uside down with its legs in the air, creating a potential hazard for young children who can be unstable walkers. Caregivers placed a table top-down with the table legs up, creating a potentially dangerous situation in which a child fell onto the exposed leg edges and was injured.
