It was determined during the investigation that a caregiver did not demonstrate competency. The caregiver knew there was rule in place by the YMCA to not allow children to use the monkey bars; however, the caregiver allowed multiple children to use the monkey bars without stopping them, and it led to an injury to a child later in the day.

744.1205(a)(5) - Responsibilities of Caregivers - Intervene when necessary

It was determined during the investigation that a caregiver did not intervene to stop multiple children from using the monkey bars which led to a child injury later in the day.

Based on the interview with staff, a caregiver that was in charge of a group of children did not have pediatric first aid and CPR training.

The standard is evaluated for a standard investigation and is not compliant. Based on the interview with a child, the staff, and the child's parents, a child was left alone of the outdoor playground unsupervised.
