Caregiver was left in charge without a background ran at the operation.

746.2805(3) - Prohibited Punishments - Grabbing and Pulling

A caregiver grabbed a child by the leg and pulled them back to their nap mat after the child attempted to get up during nap time. The caregiver's actions caused the child's body to rub across the mat which resulted in injury.

746.1201(1) - Responsibilities of Employees and Caregivers -Demonstrate Competency, Good Judgment, Self-control

A caregiver demonstrated poor judgment when deciding to grab and pull a child as a means of providing guidance and redirection during naptime.

746.307(c) - Parental Notification of Less Serious Injuries

It was determined during an investigation this standard was deficient. The operation did not notify the parent at time of pick up of a less serious injury obtain at the child-care operation.

Standard was found deficient during a DFPS investigation when a caregiver grabbed a child's face, then arm, and drug them approximately 5-7 feet.
